ABOUT OUR PASTOR
At the 148th Session of the Tennessee Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in June 2014, Rev. Sherles was newly appointed as the pastor of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church.
EDUCATION
*Graduated from Roane State Community College with A.S. degree in Waste Management Technology and B. S. degree from Tusculum College in Business Management.
*Ordained an Elder in the A.M.E. Zion Church in October 2004 by Bishop Milton A. Williams.
*Certified Member of the Order of the FLAME (Faithful Leaders as Mission Evangelists) from the World Methodist Council—World Methodist Evangelism at St. Simons Island, GA., in March 2008.
EXPERIENCE
Has 15 years pastoring in the following churches: the former Harris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church (presently the New Beginning A.M.E. Zion Church), Chattanooga, TN; Lane’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Niota, TN, and the Lomax Temple A. M. E. Zion Church, Knoxville, TN. Rev. Sherles is the Tennessee Conference Secretary and Director of the Tennessee Conference Home Missions Board. Retired as an Environmental Scientist, Oak Ridge, TN after 35 years of service.
